Current Ongoing Projects
As the COVID-19 pandemic brings uncertainty and suffering to the world, Rotary partners and participants innovate, care for those affected, and show that even at a distance, there are ways to help.
As people of action, Rotary partners are involved in their communities, coming together to carry out projects and offer help to those who need it. However, in many areas, life is changing dramatically. Health experts urge people to maintain social distance or even isolate themselves to slow the spread of this highly contagious virus.
Fighting disease is a major cause of Rotary, so partners are already supporting efforts to promote proper hand-washing techniques and educate people on other ways to stay healthy. They also provide essential medical equipment and training to healthcare providers. They now help health authorities communicate life-saving information about COVID-19 and donate protective equipment and other supplies to clinics and hospitals that are under pressure due to the pandemic.
The Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown continues to volunteer packing food for food distribution, making homemade face masks for distribution and have acquired Rotary emblem face masks to distribute to the most vulnerable while continuing to practice the recommended safe measures through this recovery period.
